Newport Attendance Protocols

 1. Masks must be worn at all times, except when receiving Communion. You may remove your mask right before receiving Communion and then immediately put your mask back on once you have received the Sacrament.

NOTE: everyone attending mass will have their temperature checked before being ushered to seats in the church or pavilions. Those with temperatures 100 degrees or over cannot enter or stay onsite.

2. Each person or family in the pavilions will be in excess of six feet apart from anyone else. Due to the recently increased capacity inside the church, we cannot guarantee the same distance between people seated in the pews. Please let our check in team know if you would like to change your reservation to pavilion seating upon arrival.

3. You will receive a printed copy of the liturgy. Please take it with you when leave or dispose of it in the trash can provided by the check in table.

4. Communion will be received on the hand in one kind, the Body of Christ, only. The clergy will bring the host out to those seated in the pavilions.

5. To accommodate those who have asked, there will be an alms basin available at the check-in table into which offerings can be placed. Tithes can also be given online by clicking here.

6. We ask that all attendees register their entire party online to help our check in team arrange seating in advance. If you need to make changes to your reservation or cancel, please email the church office here. Those arriving without a reservation will be asked to sign a physical copy of the electronic liability waiver included on our registration form, this must be signed and dated for every Sunday you attend.

We ask all who are coming to observe these protocols. People can be sick without feeling it and the protocols are as much about reducing the chance of giving the virus as they are about getting it. Following these protocols as a community also helps to reduce the anxiety many people are feeling. In church, we are called to consider the good of the entire Body of Christ. As Philippians says, “Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others” (Phil. 2:4).
