Join Our Rhythms
Daily Prayer
At the heart of the Anglican way is prayer. The Book of Common Prayer contains the essence of what Christians have been praying since the time of Jesus. It gives us a daily rhythm that shapes our days with prayer while leading us through the Scriptures over the course of the year. At St. Matthew's Church, we believe that the heart of our community is in the life of prayer we share together, the prayers we offer with and for each other. We welcome you to join in daily to pray the Offices with us. We pray Morning Prayer at 7:30 AM and Evening Prayer at 4:30 PM via Bluejeans teleconferencing. If you are unable to join us live at those time, we now offer recordings of the daily prayers on our podcast, available 30 minutes after the conclusion of prayer.
Holy Communion
The life of Anglican worship centers on the celebration of the Holy Eucharist every Sunday. All other devotion and piety in our practice takes its shape and meaning in relation to this anchoring act of communing with the risen Christ Himself as He extends His Life to us, Body and Blood, in the Sacrament. At every Liturgy, we pray that "we may dwell in Him and He in us," that we might abide more completely in Him as the True Vine and Source of our lives and that we might bear the fruit of good works by the sustenance His Life produces in and through us. We invite all to "come and see" (St. John 1:39) so that, in time, they can "taste and see" for themselves (Psalm 34:8). We have three Sunday morning services as well as a livestream of the 9:00AM Mass for those unable to attend in person.
