Sudan

The people of Sudan have experienced the faithfulness of God by your constant prayer and support of Bishop Wilson Garang and his ministry. The Anglican Catholic Church and Bishop Wilson continue to spread our Lord's love and wisdom in southern Sudan through routines of fasting and prayer. As a result, hundreds are attending services and many have been baptized and confirmed in the faith. Recently, in the southern town of Ador, nine hundred people attended a service led by Bishop Wilson Garang in which seventy received the sacrament of confirmation. The well-being of the clergy members improves daily, and the much-needed prayer books and clergy dress are finding their way into the hands of these spiritual leaders. In addition, the new Aweil Women's Association assists in pre-natal and natal care, childhood education, and the supervision of thousands of orphaned children. Also, the recently completed well at Mabok will keep an entire tribe from having to migrate many miles in search of fresh water in the coming summer. Through all of these blessings, many needs are emerging including sewing machines, fabric, materials for education, and simple agricultural equipment to tend to the yearly and daily cycle of survival.
