Visitors
Welcome to St. Matthew's Church! We hope that our website gives you a good sense of who we are as a community and what we believe about God and His church.
If you are unfamiliar with St. Matthew's, or the Anglican Catholic tradition, here are some places to start exploring:
Explore this website.
Our What We Believe, Liturgy, and Life of Prayer pages are especially helpful for those seeking a better understanding of the Anglican faith and practice. If you want to discuss anything you find on this website, please to set up a phone call or appointment with our pastoral staff, who would enjoy the chance to get to know you and answer any questions you have.
Join the Inquirers' Class.
A more thorough explanation of our tradition, worship, and beliefs is given in our eight week course called The Inquirers' Class. This class is available two to three times a year, and provides an intimate learning environment where a series of topics are taught by one of our priests and ample opportunity for questions and discussion is provided. To sign up to receive email notifications about the next Inquirers' class, click here.
Attend a Holy Communion service.
While the traditional communion liturgy can seem daunting at first to those unfamiliar with the service, first-hand experience is the best way to understand its significance and impact. We encourage you to join us on a Sunday morning and follow along in the Book of Common Prayer, or just sit and take it in. There are booklets in each pew that provide a step-by-step explanation of each facet of the service. Visitors should feel free to participate as best they can without worrying about being out of place.
Connect with our church family.
St. Matthew's is a community of people with diverse backgrounds, ages, and seasons of life. Various groups have been formed among us based on the gifts and needs of our members. At our Ministry page, you'll find a listing of groups that meet throughout the week for fellowship, service, and education. These smaller venues are a great way to get connected with St. Matthew's.
Check out our online resources.
This website provides a variety of avenues to see what the members and staff are saying about Anglicanism, being a Christian in today's culture, what the Bible says, the life of the Saints, and much more. Also, you can hear from recordings of outstanding choir. For all this and more, go to the Resources page on this website.
