Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals

As sacramental Christians we live out the milestones of our lives in the midst of our Church family. An outward and visible sign of the inward closeness we experience. Baptisms mark entry into the family of God. Parents are encouraged to baptize their children as soon as possible. A first century tradition, Baptism endows children with the gift of the Holy Spirit. A gift with encouragement they learn to open and utilize as their faith grows. Confirmation is the complement of Baptism. During the Sacrament of Confirmation those who come forward are asked to reaffirm or “confirm” their baptismal vows.

Also a Sacrament of the church, marriage is not to be entered into lightly. Therefore to be married in our church you must be committed to Christ and his church and you must attend several sessions of pre-marital counseling. We welcome those who are planning to get married and have questions about the faith. Please contact Donna Dellinger, our wedding coordinator for more information.

Regarding funerals, in general, we will perform a funeral for anyone because the church has always understood the burial of the dead to be a work of mercy. However, we make our church available to other groups only in special circumstances.
